The Ecobee Smart Thermostat Kit Includes:
* Ecobee Touchscreen Thermostat - to be mounted on your wall in an appropriate thermostat location
* Ecobee Equipment Interface Module - to be mounted in utility room that's near heating, cooling equipment.
How it wires together:
4-conductor thermostat wire runs from the thermostat to the Interface Module. Wiring for HVAC functions connect from Interface Module to heating, cooling equipment. Wiring for humidifier, dehumidifier, ventilation equipment also connects to Interface module. Thermostat connects via internal wireless radio to wireless home router point for internet control. Power for Equipment Interface Module provided by HVAC 24V transformer (NOTE: A Power Adaptor Is No Longer Included but can be purchased separately).

I use it on my vacation home and can monitor house temperatures and outside weather conditions from Ecobee's free web site, as well as my iphone. I can't say enough about this product serving my needs for remote monitoring and control. I have also used my iphone as my "remote control" while I am at the house where the Ecobee is installed (yes, that's lazy, but convenient!).
Installation took me about 45 minutes on my basic HVAC mechanical system. I am going to add a couple of contact closure water sensors to it this winter.

The easiest programable thermostat I have ever used. The iPhone app allows us to monitor and adjust the temperature at our regular and vacation home. The reports that are availble online are helpful as well as the email alerts.

This is a great product. We just installed it in our weekend home and it will save us a ton of money in energy costs. We can just change teh temp on our way to our vacation home and it will be nice and cool when we get there!

The customer service folks from Ecobee are fantastic. Installs fairly easily, I would recommend you have a professional install it though if you're not confident in your HVAC and wiring skills as it is a different than installing a standard thermostat.
I have a very erratic work schedule, and this thing makes changing the programs to fit that ever changing schedule very easy. Especially over the internet while I'm on a job-site.
Ecobee is continually updating the firmware to include new features. So far mine's been fantastic!

We installed two new thermostats on our bottom and top floors. Both have worked flawlessly, even though one of the furnaces had a failure. I really love being able to set both thermostat schedules independently but still group them for certain functions. My spouse loves getting weather updates directly from the touch screen. Overall an excellent product. I can't wait to see the additional features this company will provide through the wireless interface.
