Comments about Honeywell H8908DSPST Low Voltage Dehumidistat:
I read the reviews and installed the dehumidistat with the wiring "in parallel", with one wire to the RC and the other to Yellow. That way either the temperature or the humidity will trigger the A/C. As I think about this, however, the manual isn't wrong, per se, it shows an "in series" wiring, so that when you're away you'd set the temperature down, for example, and the dehumidistat where you wanted it triggered. When you're home, you'd turn the dehumidistat to "on" and use the thermostat to control the temperature. Either way works -- in fact, the series wiring solves the problem that might occur if you have the dehumidistat triggering the A/C at the same time as the thermostat is triggering the heat ...

Comments about Honeywell H8908DSPST Low Voltage Dehumidistat:
Easy to install if the correct wiring diagram was provided. Had to contact Honeywell and speak with a knowledgeable technician who indicated the wiring diagram in the instructions was incorrect if hooked-up to an existing thermostat to control humidity using a central AC unit. One wire from the dehumidistat has to be attached to the yellow position on the thermostat and the other to the RC terminal. Make sure the thermostat is in the cool position before turning on the dehumidistat.

Comments about Honeywell H8908DSPST Low Voltage Dehumidistat:
I ordered this dehumidstat to save $$$ while I am away from central Florida during our very humid summer rainy season. It is easy to install because it's just a switch installed in the line that sends current to the outdoor A/C condenser. But the setting of the control knob is very specific. I set mine at 60%(actual as measured by an external meter) which reads about 68% on the Honeywell control. Be sure to set your thermostat to 79 degrees (no higher) or the system will run too long--costing you money.
