Robertshaw RS5220 Multistage Digital Programmable Thermostat - 2 Heat / 2 Cool
The Robertshaw 5000 family of thermostats is designed to control gas, electric, oil, heat pump, and millivolt heating and electric cooling systems. The RS5220 is a two-stage thermostat. The RS5000 thermostats use 5-2 programming. This means the 5 weekdays will operate on one schedule and the 2 weekend days will operate on a second schedule. Add in easy installation, Contractor ID option, and quality you can depend on, and you have the Robertshaw RS5000 thermostat family - Simply the Right Choice.
The thermostat will operate using 24V AC or two AA batteries. When the two AA batteries are installed the thermostat will continue to run if the 24V AC fails.

I installed this unit a few weeks ago, and it has been a pleasure to use. Installation was simple, and operation is easy, too. I particularly appreciate the differential settings which, I'm sure, will extend the life of the compressor on our heat pump since there are fewer starts overall. There are so many customizable settings, it has allowed us to set our system to run exactly when and how we wish. Thanks for making such a great product.

I just had my upstairs HP replaced. The company installed a regular T-stat. The system would keep cycling on and off wearing out all of my moving parts. It was the 3 degree delta T that I was looking for. I spent several days before finding this online. The price per value is awesome. I've had it about 2 months now with no problems. It has many features which was very surprising.

Instructions were reasonable and easy to follow. For some reason there was no "O" (Orange) terminal shown in the intructions but fortunately there was a terminal on the device. The terminals were easy to connect into just needing a straight wire and the screw tightened up. This was a replacement for the old mercury thermostat and so far it's been working well with no problems. I bought a 2nd one for an upstairs spare room and the backlight can be set to on or off which is good when it is used as a bedroom. The main unit in the hall has the backlight set on and it provides enough light at night to get by without switching on the main lights. Fingers crossed my next electricity bill will be significantly lower that the last one. Fitting time was about 40 mins for the first and 20 for the second

Product failed to cool. After working through a replacement unit that also failed, I discovered that the phone support had given me bad advice. They told to remove a jumper. When I put it back in, the unit worked great.
Looks great. One "feature" works a little too well for me. I want the system to come on at a specific time. It anticipates the temp setting and turns on sooner than asked for, trying to reach the desired temp by the programmed time. I have to fool the unit by putting in false time and temp to get a specific "on time".
