ELV4 (PSPLV512) line voltage thermostat is a cost effective, energy saving programmable thermostat for baseboard, cable and ceiling heat. The thermostat features seperate programs for weekdays and weekends with 4 settings per day.
You can have the thermostat provide the temperature you want when you wake up and turn the heat down during the day when you leave the house, saving energy. The thermostat can also automatically bring the heat back up in the evening and offer yet another setting to keep you warm through the night as you sleep. Your custom settings start over each morning for energy savings day in and day out.
Also, the Speed Dial makes this thermostat easier than ever to program.

For applications such as baseboard electric heat (resistive), the maximum load is 15 Amps, from a 20 Amp breaker. For heat applications such as a hot water circulator pump (inductive), the maximum load is 1/4 HP @ 120 Volts and 1/2 HP at @ 240 Volts.
This thermostat is not compatible with heating appliances which contain both and electric heating element (resistive) and a blower fan (inductive) within the same device.
Do not use with circuit breakers rated higher than 20 Amps. Use with 20 Amp circuit breaker.

Our house has resistance heat in the ceiling with each room having its own thermostat.I replaced the 1950's thermostats with these to be able to program for electric savings.I am pleased with their ease of adjustment and installation and the controll they provide.

My home has a unique heating system which requires thermostats in each room of the house. These all needed to be line voltage thermostats as it Is required to activate a small fan on a hot water radiator, one for each room. Now we can control each room very accurately, setting some rooms to only be activated when they are used, and others to be activated during certain hours of the day when we need heat in those rooms. And as we were away for the holidays, we were able to set all rooms at 55 degrees while we were gone and with one button return to the scheduled heating program. My only hesitation might be the fact that they are battery operated in the control circuit, but that should only need to be replaced once a year. I highly recommend these if they fit your voltage requirements.

I appreciate that there is an audible click when the program temperature changes...there's something satisfying about a mechanical relay (don't panic...it isn't very loud)! This feels like a very solid thermostat.

The thermostat does what it is supposed to but calling it a 4 wire is misleading as it only works as a single pole stat. to accomplish my needs I had to add an additional relay in order to control the load size and control the relay with the thermostat. This is controlling radiant ceiling heat and the only load on the stat is the relay coil at 240 volts.

Works great in a Master Bedroom where there is little occupancy during the week during daytime. Best feature is the 4 settings and weekend setting. I expect the unit to recoup electrical costs over 6 months (winter). Also 120v and 240v is a great benefit since some wall heaters can be both. Wiring setup was very easy.

I looked closely at several thermostats. None are very good (the designs and interfaces haven't changed in 30 years). This one is a little better than the rest. Programming is straightforwrad as far as it goes, but display is too small to show current temperature and time at the same time so they alternate at 1 second intervals. Dumb. Function is good, though, and installation is easy.

[...] I found it easy to install and to program. I should have purchased at the same time the back plate, as this one is a bit smaller that the thermostat I replaced. I will be ordering another thermostat for another room.
