Enjoy the convenience of a completely wireless remote control model that is easy to operate with many features; maximum comfort with minimum effort. NOTE: 24V "common" wire to receiver is not required but is recommended. This thermostat is not suitable for 2-wire, heat only applications unless third 24V common wire can be located and wired to receiver OR optional ACC0436 Accessory is used.

This is just a great product!! My upstairs thermostat is on an open landing overlooking the downstairs family area. The three upstairs rooms are on the same HVAC unit and thermostat. Almost impossible to keep any room at a comfortable temp. But with this portable wireless unit, any one of the upstairs rooms the unit is moved to can now control it's own climate. Great!! Problem solved and the upstairs HVAC isn't running all the time to control the entire upstairs!! Money saved right there!!

Do not purchase this device if you have a two wire thermostatic control on your furnace. The device will not work without its own power supply.

My application was on the main floor of the house where unfortunately the one thermostat was in the room with the fireplace. This unit allowed me to place the remote thermostat in another room. The one complaint about the unit was the instruction manual for the receiver did not give instructions and a diagram for connection to a hydronic boiler heating system. I figured it out though.

The way this unit works is that you set a program on one of the remote units - Unit 1.
The other remote units work only when you touch any button on one of them, and that remote setting takes effect until the Unit 1 program changes it to the program at the next part of the day, or until someone uses any other remote unit.
For me it's perfect, as I set the temp in my BR when I go to bed, and that gives me perfect BR temp control until morning, when the central remote unit sends a new programmed setting to the base unit and takes over, when the next part of the day (Morning) begins.
If you don't want the remote setting to end due to the program, just set the Unit 1 remote to Off.

Old thermostat was in poor location near furnace. Now able to achieve desired temperature in any room. The mechanics of programming thermostat can be tricky and complicated, not enhanced by instruction manual. The overall performance of the product has been very good.

This is the second unit I have purchased. The first one I bought in 2007, but was unaware of the relay kit. Got it to work with the help of a friend.
Easy to install...beats trying to snake wire from one floor to the next. Only tricky part was running AC power line down the wall, as the wall which contained the receiver had insulation behind the drywall.
Other than that, would definitely recommend this product. Would hope that future revisions are able to slim the receiver in size.
