Braeburn Model 1000NC 1 Heat/1 Cool Tamper Proof Thermostat. REPLACES THE 1000TL. Programmable Version of this thermostat available!
This thermostat was specifically designed to help owners/managers of "all utilities paid" apartments. A two-step setpoint limiting process insures that temp limits will stay in effect. NOTE: pressing the "reset" button on the thermostat wil NOT disable the limits you set.
Temperature Limiting Example:
Prevent Heat Setpoints Above 71 Degrees
Prevent Cooling Setpoints Below 78 Degrees
The digital non-programmable thermostat shall be a BraeburnTM model number 1000NC, 3.72" high x 4.75" wide x 1.12" deep, powered independently with either 24 Volt AC or with two "AA" Alkaline batteries (3.0 Volt DC). The thermostat shall be compatible with single stage gas, oil or electric heating or cooling systems including single stage heat pumps and 250mv - 750mv millivolt heating systems. The thermostat shall have a bright blue backlight display, adjustable temperature limits, front loading battery door and separate sub-base for trouble free installation. Temperature control range shall be between 45° and 90° F (7° and 32°C), accuracy of +/- 1° F (+/- .5° C), humidity range between 5% and 95% relative humidity. The thermostat shall include non-volatile memory to retain user settings. Thermostat shall have low battery indication and a front reset button will return user settings to default values when pressed. The thermostat can be mounted to a horizontal junction box.

if they could make the plastic a little more durable, we break them and are putting tape on the back to keep closed

Perfect if you have a tenant who doesn't pay for heat. Bought to limit how high they can set thermostat. Works great. Directions to set max/min temp INCLUDED IN PACKAGING. I only use it for heating. Only requires 2 wires; no power wire required. NOT PROGRAMMABLE which is the ONLY downfall.

Product arrived ahead of schedule. We were able to set HI / LO temp settings and install in 5 minutes. Temperature limits worked as described. Would recommend to any property managers that have units where they include utilities in the rent.

We have purchased this t-stat for the second time for our apartment's only one tenant figured out how to overide the settings but there is a cure for "difficult" tenants too! (program tab can be removed after programing.)This t-stat will save you the price of purchase the first month!You can't afford not to install these.We are "all in" on this one and this will be the only kind of t-stat we will buy from now on!

I tried this product because of the the reviews that other people wrote. Also, I must say the price is very reasonable.I especially like the limiting feature. I set it at 68 but the tenant has the option of lowering it but not able to go beyond the upper limit. I will definitely use this unit again when it's time to upgrade my other rental units.

Installed about 5 so far. Easy and to the point programming. Tenants can not tamper with this and the savings on energy and equipment abuse will pay for itself in one or two monhts! I will buy this product again.
