I have several of these and find them quite handy. Because I have several of these I've figured out a few quirks. (1) The humidity sensor on a set of these will vary by about 10 p.points. A given unit is pretty consistently either high or low relative to it's siblings. (2) The temperature displayed for all the units is very consistent but it's probably only accurate to about 1 degree F. I think it is probably measuring in degree C under the covers and converting to F before displaying which means that certain F temps are unreachable and you'll see the thermostat twitter between the two adjacent numbers rather than display the untouchable number. (3) Unsurprisingly, it will take about 40 minutes to stabilize on a new humidity reading if moved from a place with a very different humidity. OTOH the temperature stabilizes at the new value in about five minutes. -- I doubt any of these behaviors is critical to normal users, so I'd recommend this device for nearly everyone.

I saw the Acurite Humidity Monitor at a friend's home while visiting in Ottawa, Ontario ,and really liked it. We looked for one in the stores there, but could not find it. When I got back home to Malta, NY, I went online and ordered one. I carry it around in the house and use it in different rooms depending on what I am doing. I have no regrets on purchasing the product and would recommend it hightly.

for the price, this thing works great. I moved it from room to room and let it stabilize overnight and its great. After a few days, you get the min/max readings and they are right on. I have anothe device for 3x the price, yes, it has larger numbers, but this one tracks right along with the expensive units.

I purchased this device to monitor room relative humidity where computer equipment operates, and noticed that it read about 35% initially, and I was happy the room was ok (meaning under 50%). When I borrowed a certified and calibrated instrument to check the humidity levels, I found it to be about 68%. This device has a 50% error reading relative humidity rendering it totally useless. Do not trust it for accuracy.

Bought 2 of these Monitors, and they don't read the same, in the same room, at the same time, next to one another. One or both is not accurate, I don't know which. It appears to me that the mfgr didn't calibrate one or both. Sorry, but I would not recommend this product.

This Monitor reads about 2 to 3 degrees higher in temperature than other tested monitors I have in my home. The device was delivered from IAQ loose in a box so that it was free to bounce around, possibly the cause for its not being accurate.

I've been using this device to quickly ascertain temperature and humidity differences in my home at different times of year. It's not a particularly sophisticated device, but that's not what I'm after. I like its storage of 24-hr max/min temp and RH, which I haven't seen on other inexpensive units.

The high/low temperature and humidity tracking feature is a plus, especially at this price point. The high/low/OK humidity feature allows for setting humidifiers or air conditioning cycles to keep humidity within a preferred range.
