I purchased this thermostat because the last white rodgers lasted me 10 years. I realized that I did not need a programable one and this one is really easy to read and use. I got the backlight which I like and the numbers are in large print, so no glasses needed. My only complaint would be on the installation. The last unit had round screws that the wire attaches to. On this unit, you have to unscrew the really tiny screws to insert the wires. Not easy to do. I hope this one last as long at my last one.

I have five of these in my large home. One has failed after four years. It developed a temperature sensor eror of seven degrees! If you read the manual, it shows you how to adjust for errors up to four degrees, so there may be a general problem in this area. I bought an identical unit as a replacement. It was easy to install and read the temperature accurately right out of the box with no adjustment. For the price, it's a good value if you don't need programmability.

I have 3 ac zones, all controlled by this thermostat and all 3 went bad inside 2 years. All 3 have been replaced with same item.(did not trust the ac installer) At the one year mark on new controllers with no issues
