We had the heating/air guy install this for us. We have two heating units and use this thermostat on both of them. Nice clean design looks fine on the walls. Should still be able to read the numbers when I'm an old lady.

TOOK ONLY MINUTES TO INSTALL AND HAVE IT UP AND RUNNING. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THE TEMP IS OFF BY 4 DEGREES. WHEN YOU COMPARE IT WITH OTHER THERMOMETER UNITS SO YOU HAVE TO SET IT TO 76 DEGREES WHEN YOU WANT 72. LOOKS LIKE I AM OVER USING MY HEAT WHEN IN FACT IT IS ONLY NORMAL IN MY HOME.[...]

I own an apartment building and noticed my tenants regulating their heat by opening their window instead of turning down their thermostat. Enough! I purchased 4 and set the temperature lock and now the windows stay closed at 20 degrees. I like the large, numbers, the lighted display and ease of set up. I recommend purchasing the wallplates to cover up holes in the wall from old thermostat. [...]

Large easy to see back lit screen is a pleasure to adjust at night. Thermostat keeps a uniform heat temperature in house all day long.

Biggest advantage is that is displays both the current temperature AND the temp setting.

Also displays current function (i.e. "Heater ON"), which is useful for troubleshooting.

If you need a non-programable easy to use thermostat, this one is perfect. I previously installed a multi-program thermostat which worked perfectly, but my wife hated it because she did not want to spend the time to learn to change the programing which I'll admit was somewhat of a challange. This one is a no brainer, up-down arrows to change temperature and one push of a button to change from heat to air-conditioning. I use this thermostat to control a forced air furnace with air conditioning. Be aware that this thermostat has batteries which must be changed infrequently, but this eliminates the problem I had previously with a "power robbing thermostat" where the display would go blank when the burner came on making it impossible to change the temperature until the furnace turned off completly. Maybe not all installations have this problem, but the unit with batteries solved it for me.

I had bought a programmable thermostat and had nothing but trouble, it kept resetting itself. So I checked the Internet and found this great product that is reliable and simple to use. I really like it.

Very disappointed in fact That, description stated I could set Temperature limits. I called Honeywell and was told That I a landlord could not do that and had to call a technitian. VERY DISAPPOINTING......

My 2 new Honeywell digital thermostats replaced old mercury thermostats (with sliding heat adjustment) that were installed when my home was built in mid-1960s. With the old thermostats, rooms were either too cold or too hot, but usually too hot. After the easy installation - with excellent technical guidance from Reed at prothermostats.com - the heat now remains at the exact degree I set. I am sure that these new thermostats will pay for themselves in a few months with the savings from the energy I was wasting. This thermostat was ordered to replace a programmable unit at my mother-in-laws house. The programming was just too difficult for her. I wanted her to have a unit that was accurate, easy to read and simple to adjust. This unit fits the bill perfectly. She is delighted with it so I am happy. I can't think of anything negative about the product. I would recommend it to others seeking its' features.
