Jackson Systems Limit-StatT Battery Operated Thermostat Model LS-HCB. Uses 2 "AAA" Alkaline Batteries A great product for landlords and property managers! Limit-StatT is a low cost, easy to install, digital thermostat. The difference is that Limit-StatT prevents the heating temperature from exceeding 73 degrees, even if the tenant sets the thermostat higher. Don't let rising energy costs erode your profits! The Model LS-HC Limit-StatT operates like an ordinary manual changeover heating/cooling, digital thermostat. In normal operation, it allows full user control in selecting mode (HEAT/COOL) and fan (ON/AUTO) as well as adjustment of heating and cooling setpoints. However, when the thermostat is in the heating mode of operation, the built-in limiter will prevent the temperature from rising above 73° F when the setpoint is adjusted above the limit range. This unique feature greatly reduces energy costs. NOTE: This thermostat runs on batteries - does not require a 24 VAC "common" wire. This is one of the best thermostat for property owners/landlords that include heat with the rent.

The temp limit is encoded on the circuit so there's no tampering possible by the tenants. Also, it works discreetly, since tenants can put the thermostat on any temp they wish, but it will not exceed the factory limit. 73F is perfect for older tenants, while 71F is better for everyone else. In a way, I wish there were dip switches to change the limits - a range of 68F-73F would be ideal!
