Standard Features Autochangeover - automatically switches between heating and cooling as needed LED indicator glows green or red to indicate cooling or heating Controls temperature to within 1 degree of set point One of All 2-stage cooling, 2-stage heating for use with gas/electric, heat pump or hydronic system All programming and set points stored in non-volatile memory Thermostat locking - set points can only adjusted by authorized individuals when this feature in on Works with 4 or 5 wires (no common necessary) This 1-day programmable thermostat has up to 4 time periods per day. It is extremely simple to operate with extra large display and large, soft buttons. this is a keep it simple stupid product...works like a charm,and no unnessecery bells and whistles...which is why I've replaced all thermostats with the venstar...purchased 10 and counting..

Product works well. Have used a similar (almost exact) stat for about 11 years. Read the instructions on the programming. If you follow the instructions, it is not difficult to use and is a versatile stat.

After finding out that my older non programmable thermostat was no longer made, this programmable one was listed as the replacement. After receiving, popped old one off and popped new one on. Worked fine. Did not have to remove old wall plate and change wires. A repair like this would have cost at least $199 if I had a company do it.
