The Braeburn® 5970 Thermostat Guard can be used in virtually all new or existing thermostat applications. The enclosed template provides mounting locations for a wide range of commercial thermostat models. . With most existing thermostat applications, the thermostat guard can be installed without removing the thermostat from the wall. In existing applications, only the cover and ring base will be used, NOT the wallplate. For some existing installations the thermostat may need to be removed from the subbase to install ring base. . In new thermostat applications, the thermostat guard can be used with or without the wallplate. The wallplate is usually used to cover scratches or marks from the old thermostat installation. This is a GREAT thermostat COVER.Seems to be made of quality plastic and has a VERY nice LOW PROFILE design,so it doesn't stick way out into my hallways where my linen carts will hit it.(Hotel)It has a nicely designed locking mechanism also!

It was easy to install and easy to remove, although it would be nicer if it had hinges. I wish it had some air holes, so the thermostat knows when it reaches the proper temperature. Other than that, it does keep my 94 year old mother with Alzheimer's from constantly changing the temperature.

We have five different size thermostats at our offices, and this guard fit all of them. It is very nice in appearance and was very easy to install (about two minutes for each one). The only complaint is that the lid is not attached and comes off in your hand every time you open them up. Otherwise, it is a great product, and I purchased several of them.

My only complaint is that the cover comes off when you lift it. It has no hinges, just small plastic tabs at the top that hold it together when it's locked.

Easy to install and better loking than most covers.We drilled a hole in the cover so the temporary up/down arrows could be adjusted but not the hold on the thermostat. This is because the uses of our church building are so varied that a fixed schedule does not always work.

I have an existing alarm keypad over which I installed this. It was so EASY! I unscrewed the alarm keypad and let it dangle, then fitted the thermostat guard around it and screwed everything back up. I did NOT need to utilize the back plate that comes with it. Perfect fit, perfect shape, particularly for a home. All of the other thermostat guards were extremely bulky looking, particularly depth-wise, but this one is extremely sleek. I highly recommend it.

My headline would have read "Finally a thermostat guard that looks attractive." but there was not enough room. I didn't want to use a thermostat guard because of how they all look, until I found this one. I will be ordering 2 more, now that I know it will work for our high end mixed use building.

This product does the job, and I initially ordered it because it looked more pleasing to the eye than the other boxy looking thermostat covers; but upon receiving this one, it looks cheap to me. It still does what it's supposed to and it's probably the best looking product out there for this purpose - I was just hoping it would look a little more crisp. It's not terribly noticable though...so, oh well.
