Replaced previous programmable thermostat with this one in order to add humidifier control. Easy to install and set up, although Honeywell says professional installation only. Works well. Programming guide could have been more thorrough in terms of describing the programmable features and their uses, but the built in help is good.

The SD rocks!

Did I NEED this nice of a thermostat? Probably not. This was definitely a WANT. That's why this thing is called the Prestige. This thermostat is for people who care about viewing/interface, quality/experience on things like their TV and computer monitor. This is THE main interface for your comfort. Don't be cheap and try to save $50 to $100 on a cheaper thermostat when you just paid thousands for a new HVAC system. The other reason I chose the SD is because it is actually useful. At a glance (without going into different menus) I can see the temperature/ humidity for both indoors and outdoors at the same time. I compared the outdoor sensor reading to an alcohol thermometer and it was right on. Also, you can adjust the idle screen brightness, but the screen also turns negative after a certain time at night to be even darker. For those that don't know what the negative reference means.. . All the dark areas turn light and light areas turn dark. The only Cons for the SD specifically would be that the screen is not exactly white like it shows in the picture. It does have a slight light blue tint to it.
