I bought this thermostat because my home thermostat is in a small living room with a plasma TV. The TV warms the room enough that the heat would not kick on and the rest of the house was 4-6 degrees colder. I installed this thermostat myself and we put the remote in our babies room. It works perfectly keeping what ever room we have the remote in at the perfect temperature. It is an expensive unit, but worth every penny.

The Honeywell is a great thermostat. The display is large and easy to read in the sunlight and the controls are simple to use. Obvisiously the thermostat offers many features so read the manual. I thought the remote would be over-kill, but if you awake early and do not want to get out of bed to turn the heat up the remote is fantastic. This Thermostat system works wonderfully and pretty much does it all! If you have wiring already run then this is the one you need.Honeywell makes another model for WIRELESS applications.You DO need to connect a 24V COMMON wire to run this Thermostat.I love the fact that it indicates the indoor and outdoor humidity level as well as the temp.There are other options that can be controlled by this thermostat as well such as the RED LINK series wireless Humidifier.THe only thing I would like to see is more use of the High resolution screen.Possible screen saver type images that can be downloaded to the unit.

Amazing product. The remote that can act like another thermostat is great. I live in a townhouse and the upstairs is sometimes considerably hotter than the rest of the house. This remote allows me to adjust cycles based on the upstairs temp, where I am (instead of running up and down the steps to adjust it). It is also very simple to program, make adjustments, then menu guides you through. I wondered if I was crazy to spend this much money on a thermostat, but after install and using it for a few weeks I think it is worth every. single. penny.

We have a three story townhome, and walking from the bedroom (level 3) to my office (level 1) used to be like travelling from the tropics to the arctic. I bought this unit to solve a problem with the location of the thermostat on our second floor. We have an open floor plan and the old thermostat was located in an open area above our 2 story family room, and it kept our heat pump system running all the time. I use one of the bedrooms as an office and sleep in one of the other ones at times. Before I got this unit it was either freezing or roasting in the rooms and I could never seem to find a good setting that worked with my wife setting our downstairs system. This unit allowed me to regulate the temperature of every room and has really solved the problem. I installed the unit myself in about an hour, including the outside thermostat. So far all is well, and hopefully the setup will work alright in the winter for heating as I had to guess about some of the wiring and setups for my existing system - my problem, not anything with the thermostat. Right now I am completely satisfied with this unit and enjoy the great display and the feedback I now have of outside temperature. The remote unit is really easy to use and I can now regulate the temperature to whatever I want, wherever I am on the second floor. I would highly recommend this unit and have thought about getting another one for our furnace for the first floor.

Easy to read display (HD) in color can read the temperature from virtually 15 feet away from the thermostat. I purchased the package with an outdoor temperature sensor and a remote control. I'm using the remote control as a portable thermostat in my basement; with it you can run your hvac heating and cooling settings from the remote making it more comfortable in whatever room or portion of the home that you're in. When leaving you can change control back to the central thermostat. It's like having two thermostats in your home with one being portable. I find the color display readouts to be easier on the eyes than the grey and green screen displays of older digital thermostats. I'm happy with this product. The one negative was the price at [$]; it's expensive as far as thermostats go but I believe the benefits outweigh the cost of new technology. Honeywell is going in the right direction with this model.

Took several trips from the installer to finally figure out that the already-installed Honeywell True Steam humidifier was making the thermostat put on the A/C and furnace at the same time! A different rewireing was the solution. Don't try to install thermostat yourself.
Doesn't have automatic shift from cool to heat.
Random fan coming on is nice to keep house air unstratified.
Remote is nice as it keeps the air in its own location at the temperature you want.
Holds temperature very well - to within about one degree. My old one was +- 1.5 degrees.
You don't need the mounting plate.

I replaced the old thermostat on my Trane heat pump with two stage heat, emergency heat, and single stage cooling. 7 day programming was a requirement and, of course, compatibility. This thermostat exceeded my expectations in terms of the ease of use. Installation was easy, once I decoded how my Trane system was set up. That process was the hardest and not due to any fault of the thermostat. I have since had a heating and cooling technician take a look at my system for an unrelated issue, and the thermostat caught his attention. He was extremely impressed as well.

I originally thought that the description was too good to be true, but chose to believe the HVAC professional who first told me about this system. It goes in very easy, and with the wireless outdoor sensor, and wireless remote, you get full info and mobile command. The unit keeps very accurate temperature, and the circulation mode for the fan allows you to let the fan come on at random times to stir the air and get the most out of your HVAC system.

I've had this thermostat about a month now. I lost the instruction 4 my old thermostat, and got tired of trying 2 program it without them. This thermostat is great! I ordered the "Portable Comfort Control" also. Didn't think it was necessary 4 a 2000 sq ft. 2 story but I find myself using it all the time. Also ordered the "Wiresaver" module. Do your research ahead of time to know if U'll need a "Wiresaver" module. I found there were 5 wires on my unit, but only 4 at my old thermostat. After some trouble shooting, I didn't need the "Wiresaver" module. Everything took me about 2 hr 2 install, and I'm pretty handy, so I would suggest, 4 what U spend on this U may want 2 pay someone 2 install it. Prothermostat had the best price I'd seen on the internet.

I have bought many different types of thermostats throught out my life and by far this one takes the cake. Honeywell makes the best products around, I mean this. I have spent countless hours researching what will work perfectly for my new home. I love this model. The HD is awesome. I can see the display from over 30 feet away. I love the precise accuracy that the temperature it holds and keeps. The outside temp with humidity is right one to the degree and percent. I am not joking. I am more than happy that I bought this unit and would totally recommend this to anyone who wants comfort, ease of use and a display that rocks. I also love the remote control unit. Before I get up in the morning, I turn the heat on right from my bed side. Instead of having two thermostats, I use the remote and it is like having a dual unit. Now this completes my new custom built home. Awesome!!!

I think this product is great. The controls are easy to use. I have only had the product for three weeks and still need to look into some more features, but if you are looking for a thermostat and humidistat in one along with a wireless remote, this is definitely the way to go. Also, if you have a new born, it's really nice to have the remote so you know the room the child is in maintains an accurate temperature even in an old home. Hope this helps.

This is a well made thermostat with a nice remote unit (personal comfort control). You can feel the quality of the thermostat and remote when handling - they feel solid and work very well.
The installation was straight forward. Even though the manufacterer recomends a pro install, nearly anyone can install this. Just be sure to check how many wires go to your current thermostat - this unit requires 5. However, if you only have 4 (like I did), be sure to pick up the Honeywell wiresaver ( THP9045A1007)that will easily fix this issue. The wall thermostat was a bit smaller than my old thermostat, so I also added the wallplate (THP9045A1007) for the unit, so I didn't have to do any wall repairs. It looks and works great! At night I operate my thermostat from the remote unit up in my bedroom - since upstairs bedroom gets hot while downstairs is cold, this feature will save me a fortune this winter (5 degree temp differential between upstairs and downstairs). I have no regrets in paying a bit more for this great equipment.

This is a great product, however I would like to see another accessory and an added function. First would be a wall mounted remote that resembles the primary touchscreen unit. This would be good for the upstairs area instead of the night-stand remote. Second, how about making the primary or secondary touchscreen unit controllable via IP. This thermostat requires an extra power wire. Some builders, to save a buck, only install a four-wire cable to the original thermostat. Fortunately, Honeywell has a $30 solution: The Honeywell WireSaver Module, part #THP9045A1007, available from this site. This module mounts near the furnace (or zone controller). It accepts four wires coming from the Prestige thermostat and connects to the furnace with five. The Prestige is designed to communicate with this device using only the four wires. Your furnace or zone controller, however, will "see" five wires and be happy.

This thermostat is the best of the best. When considering this thermostat, do not hesitate to spring the extra cash. It's worth it. The only thing is, this thermostat needs to be installed by a very confident DIYer or by a professional. When I ordered this stat, I didn't realize that this was part of Honeywell's "Professionally Installed" line of thermostats. Not wanting to spend the money to pay someone for a service call and installation, I decided to do some research and find out if it could be done myself. After reading info all over the Internet about this and other stats, I gave it a try. Turns out, reseach pays off. Installation went smooth and the stat works very well. Menus are very intuitive. Layout is excellent. Touch controls are fantastic. The remote is incredible and a VERY nice convienence. Excellent comfort system. Don't hesitate.

This is a great thermostat but I would only recommend it if you get the remote control. I live in a townhouse w/ 3 floors and I was tired of running downstairs to adjust the heat during the winter. The remote is great because A. I don't have to run around anymore and B. it saves me money because I am mainly upstairs and having the thermostat on the main level was killing me on costs to keep the upstairs warm (the remote can serve as a thermostat too - reading the upstairs temp to start/stop the heater)

Other than my very specific reasons I can't really recommend spending $250-$300 on a thermostat unless you like really cool gadgets and have excessive income.

The design and implementation of this thermostat is first-rate, from the hardware with its beautiful touch-screen to its software design, which is as good as I have ever seen on any touch-screen device. It is a joy to set up, a joy to use, and a joy to show off to visitors. It is pure luxury to come home at the end of the day to a house that is always the right temperature, whether the sun is beating down outside or the fog has rolled in, plunging the outside temperature by 50 degrees. (It cools as necessary, heats as necessary, without your intervention.)

The Vacation mode is also deluxe: You touch your start date & time and your return date & time, and it goes into your desired vacation mode, bringing the house back to a livable temperature just in time to welcome you home. That is the very essence of luxury.

A couple of gotchas: First, one that has been covered in other reviews: You have to have five wires running to this thermostat. It requires power which many thermostats don't. Please note, however, that the benefits of this thermostat are so tremendous that it is worth doing anything necessary to get it to work, even if that means running a new wire.

Second, the remote controls have a significant limitation I never found mentioned before ordering: You cannot tie more than one remote control to a given thermostat. That means that, if you and your spouse each want a remote in the living room, you are fresh out of luck. (We had to send our extra one we ordered back, at our expense, since they didn't warn us.)

The remotes have other limitations as well. You have your choice of either using a remote to control multiple thermostats or having richer capabilities by tying it to a single unit. Specifically, you can have the thermostat regulate the room based on the temperature measured at the remote, rather than at the wall unit, quite useful if the wall unit was not optimally-sited. That capability goes away as soon as you tie the remote to a second thermostat.

If you do want the remote to talk to more than one thermostat, it might find itself unable to do so. Our master bedroom in our 2800 square foot house is far enough removed that the living room remote cannot make contact at all with the bedroom thermostat. This was at first of concern since our experience with other programmable remotes was that their programs were so hard to set up and modify that we pretty much reverted to manual control. These thermostats are so easy to program and to change once programmed, that we rarely if ever touch them. We don't need to control the bedroom from the living room.

One other piece of missing info is that a single Wireless Outdoor Sensor will support multiple thermostats, so there's no reason to own more than one. (While the living room remote couldn't talk to the bedroom thermostat, we were easily able to find a location for the outdoor sensor midway between where it could communicate with both thermostats.) On the other hand. the kit prices are such that it may be cheaper to end up with an extra one than to buy everything separately.

Everything has been great about this thermostat[...] how easy it installs and operates. The controls are very easy to operate. The only con is how the screen is unlocked. I would prefer it prompt for the password if you want to make adjustments, instead it requires a few more steps. I wanted to replace an old mercury switch style thermostat in a home my wife and I had just purchased. I've installed other digital thermostats and when I found this I had to have it. Turns out that this thing is just perfect. It's better than any other digital thermostat I've had or seen. Touch is sensitive and works like you'd hope it would. Can't get this at the bog box stores at the time of this writing.

The only slight hang-up for me was that it requires a 24v power supply and that wire was not specifically behind my old thermostat. I was basically missing the blue wire (typical color used for 24v although could be any color of course). There were a couple extra unused wires in the main thermostat cable and luckily after stripping it back a couple inches and finding a 24v connection on the furance in the basement all systems were go. Just keep in mind that it is a large color touch screen and a 24v power supply is required, this unit doesn't take batteries and will not run without giving it the 24 volts it needs.

The remote is not in color (monochrome) but the added functionality of having a 2nd portable thermostat is hard to beat. The remote is heavy and feels very solid. It stands up nicely on a bed side table. It is easy to wirelessly pair up to main unit.

Outdoor sensor is a breeze to pair up as well and works fine. Not as big a deal as the remote or the fancy main unit but nice bonus to know outside temp.

This is the best thermostat I have ever seen or used, period!!!! I can see this in the middle of the night without having to get my glasses or turn a light on.
The only thing that I am dissappointed about is that the description states that: USB Port allows downloading of installer settings to quickly and consistently perform setup of thermostats in similar applications, let me to believe this would come with software.. Had I known, I would have looked for a higher end unit.

This is a great thermostat and is super easy to use and install. But if you have 900mhz. baby monitors then don't bother buying the wireless remote or outdoor sensor. Every 30 seconds or so it sends and aweful static interferance through the baby monitors which is unbareable so I needed to disconned the wireless options and they are now expensive toys sitting back in the box. But other than the interferance issue it is great.

bought this stat for our home. the price scared me a bit but wanted a really nice looking stat to hang on the wall. instalation took a bit but was not hard just wanted to make sure i got it roght. the screen is as advertised, beautiful....touch screen is wonderful and very responsive. everything you need help with is right on the thermostat, if you have a question there is a little help button you touch and it pops up a screen to help you out. also have the outdoor sensor, not sure how accurate it is but i would say it is withing 4 or 5 degrees. aslo have the wireless remote which is very nice, can carry it from room to room and that has been wonderful, when i go to bed at night and i am hot dont have to get up and walk all the way down to the thermostat can just adjust it from my bed via the remote. overall it is well worth the pricetag

I am very impressed with this product. It was very easy to setup and I like the sleek look and feel of the unit. It was simple to hook up the wireless devices and I really like how you are able to use the temperature reading on the thermostat or the wireless controller. The only issue you would need to be aware of is that this unit requires a 24V common connection. In my case I needed to run an additional cable from the thermostat to my furnace. If you are not the handy type this can be difficult.

I purchased one of these thermostats through the IAQSource.com, but I did encounter a problem during the install no display on the thermostats screen. My owe thermostats cable have five wires and the green cable is not use, base on the document the green cable is connects to the 24VAC common (C label on thermostats). I try to install for three hours with no luck then I called the Honeywell support, after 30 minutes on the phone, he told me this thermostats is only for professional installation. [...]The same problem with the first thermostats. I open the air condition panel and look for the green wire. The green wire is not connected to the C label or transformer. I connected the cable and the thermostats work right away. I love the display and touch screen, easy install wireless devise and program. I can see the big number from 20ft. Base on the manual, the installer Options is only for professionally qualified technicians. If you know litter about computer and wireless, you can add the remote and outdoor sensor to the thermostats very easy. To install or replace the old thermostat, just follow the cable color codes and labels on the old thermostat. My wife loves the remote controller. She can turn on or off with out to leave the bed. I love my new Honeywell! It does exactly what I want it to do and it is so easy to operate. Plus, it looks pretty cool on my wall. This is easily the best programmable thermostat on the market. Easy to use. Tons of options in plain english. If you can read a sentence and point with your finger this is the thermostat that beats all others. Very happy. Remote control is very nice as well.
